Resolute937 offers a health and fitness environment for anyone and everyone

Resolute 937, 1161-B Bechtle Ave., Springfield, officially opened on Feb. 25. The fitness studio offers yoga, barre, pilates, swerk, cardio/HIIT, Bold (strength training), and stroller works.

Whitney Jarzab – a fitness trainer since 2015 - says classes and programs are designed for all fitness levels. Also, Resolute 937 is unique because it is not an open gym.

“It is very important to us that anyone can walk into the studio and feel welcomed, comfortable, challenged, empowered, and courageous,” she says. “We offer group classes and one on one training. We also have virtual programming and live streaming for those who cannot attend in person.”

On the night of the New Moon – Oct. 25 – Resolute 937 invites the community to begin a journey to a “New You.”

Jarzab says Halloween is her favorite holiday, and she couldn’t think of a better time to offer the community a health and wellness treat in the form of a Halloween Bootcamp (costumes encouraged, but not required).

“I like to plan fun collaborative events or informational workshops once a month,” says Jarzab. “I thought it would be the perfect time to get dressed up, introduce a class that highlights all we have to offer, and enjoy some nutritious food by Blended by J to prepare us for the end of the year hustle.”

Jarzab says Halloween Bootcamp attendees can expect to have fun, laugh, and build community.

“We will be on site at 5 p.m. to mingle and hand out samples,” she says. “Class will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m., and we will be taking participants through a mini fitness sampler. We will introduce some yoga stretching for warmups, a light weight session, barre, one swerk song, and a yoga cool down.”

Jarzab says the idea is that everyone receives a little taste of what each class is like, as well as an idea of what it is like to be a member of Resolute 937.

“We show up big for our people and we want to demonstrate that here,” she says.

Instructors at Resolute 937 all have extensive certifications and background experience, including Jarzab who holds a Bachelor’s degree in business and health and exercise science with a concentration in kinesiology from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

“We offer onsite nutrition for pre- and post-workout fuel that is 100 percent vegan and homemade with only the finest quality ingredients,” says Jarzab.

The studio also offers “childwatch.”

“It is important to us that moms have the ability to bring their kids and not feel guilty to take a little time for their mental and physical health,” says Jarzab.

Before opening Resolute 937 Jarzab began thinking about the reasons why someone cannot make their health a priority, such as time, money, family, travel, fear, experience levels, and more.

“I also had gone through two postpartum experiences, each completely different and sensed a lack of dire information,” she says. “I didn't want a pregnant woman or postpartum mom to question if she could do this. I did not want a 62-year-old woman to question if she could do this. I did not want the 20-year-old guy to wonder if he should be taking yoga here. Everyone is welcome and everyone is thought of. There is a lot of intention that goes into everything we do.”

Jarzab wanted to create an environment where everybody and anybody could walk in and workout together, she says. The studio offers virtual classes and one on one training to help ease barriers that come with beginning a fitness journey. She says health is not about a deadline or timeframe; health is a lifelong process with ebbs and flows.

Resolute 937’s mission is to continue to raise awareness and opportunity for health and wellness in the community.

“We want to unite people from all walks of life and all fitness levels to come together for a common purpose,” she says. “It is not easy to start a fitness journey, and even harder to build your healthy habits and commitments. Our goal is to continue to remove barriers and potentially expand.”

Jarzab intends to continue to grow as a leader, an owner, and a mentor. She also believes in collaboration as a crucial element to growth, having reached out to many local businesses to offer discounted rates for corporate and local businesses for their employees.

Jarzab says Resolute 937 believes wholeheartedly in the mission and in serving the community with health and wellness. Its purpose to impact lives and protect the planet.

“The people who walk into our doors every day to take class are kind, passionate, bubbly, health minded, bold, brave, and worthy. They are deserving of good things, and they are uplifting each other,” she says. “It truly brings me to tears. The bonds and the friendships we are forming, they are forming, is incredible to watch. This space holds more than weights and yoga blocks. It holds memories, relationships, goals achieved, success met, emotional support, connection, so much. We are blessed.”

Halloween Bootcamp costs $15. Registration is open online here.
